1666: Amsterdam Eloquent Fox — Seal, True Name & Night Fight

This investigation is part of Esbat of the Fox Moon. The seal is in a university office; the original-name evidence is in the judge’s private residence. Finding one does not replace the other.

1. Investigate the judge at Athenaeum Illustre and collect the office seal.
2. Read the Journal of Jacob Elzinga for his home address.
3. Search the House of the Balance for the letter revealing Claes Shipper.
4. Return to the judge for Nominem, then use Aaron’s scratch to open the breach.
5. Follow Noa’s preparation for nightfall, defeat the Eloquent Fox’s Amalgam and collect NUX.

The lead points to an office in Athenaeum Illustre. In the recording, the player reaches the upper corridor, possesses a guard to enter the office, then uses Aaron to collect the seal from the desk.

1. Find the office off the upper university corridor. Match the room with bookcases, a woman in green, and a cloth-covered desk beside the tall windows.
2. Use the available possession/access route to get inside. The recorded route uses a guard; this is not evidence that a specific guard appearance is required.
3. Approach the window-side desk and locate Take, beside the candle and stacked books.
4. Take the item as Aaron and return to Noa outside. Wait for the Eloquent Fox Seal notification.

Investigating the judge and the office identifies Jacob Elzinga. Read the journal in the office by the window: its opening lines place his residence at the House of the Balance, on Voorburgwal.

1. Inspect the Journal of Jacob Elzinga in the office.
2. Check the quest hint for House of the Balance and Voorburgwal.
3. Follow this residence lead rather than continuing to search the university for the original-name letter.

Go to the residence on Voorburgwal using the quest hint. The recording enters at about 2:29:37, then explores its upper rooms and exterior windows before finding the letter. Use the map and room references below to distinguish this house from the university office.

1. Enter the residence and explore the upper rooms. Watch the restricted-area indicator and use Aaron’s traversal or possession when access is blocked.
2. Locate the wooden upper room with a bed, a tall red privacy screen and low furniture. Inspect the document interaction in that room; ordinary Search loot alone is not the required proof.
3. Finish the following conversation. Noa explicitly confirms that the letter proves Claes Shipper was Jacob Elzinga’s ancient name.
4. Wait for Noa to say that she can now cast Nominem and needs Aaron to create the breach.

1. Return to Jacob Elzinga in the university’s teaching/auditorium area, where he addresses a group beside the tall windows.
2. Bring Noa into range, reveal her magic and use Nominem on the identified judge.
3. Switch to Aaron and approach the target to scratch him. In the video the target moves outside during this sequence, so follow him if necessary.
4. Listen for Aaron’s breach confirmation and Noa’s instruction to return home and prepare for nightfall.

Follow the quest home for Noa’s preparation. The next confrontation belongs to the night phase even if parts of the recorded scene appear relatively bright. The intervening dialogue explicitly discusses moonlight and the contract.

1. Finish Noa’s home/preparation sequence and follow the night objective back to the judge’s encounter.
2. Trigger the confrontation. The reveal card identifies the Amalgam as Agares and the Original as Claes Shipper.
3. Defeat the Amalgam and finish collecting its NUX. The recording completes the fight and collection around 2:48.
4. Continue the Fox Moon objectives: return to Cornelia for the transcription sequence, then follow the ceremony objective. The boss alone is not the entire Esbat.
